About EGS!

The European Graduate School (EGS) is a private, cross-disciplinary, low-residency graduate school. It is unique for its “low-residency” model, where students attend intensive summer or spring seminars in person and complete the rest of their work independently under supervision. The university is organized into two primary divisions: PACT (Philosophy, Art, and Critical Thought) and AHS (Arts, Health, and Society). It is known for its world-class faculty, which includes some of the most prominent contemporary philosophers, artists, and theorists.

Why Study in EGS?

Studying at the European Graduate School (EGS) offers a rare opportunity to study directly under world-renowned intellectuals and “starchitects” of modern thought. Its low-residency model is ideal for working professionals and creative practitioners who cannot commit to a traditional on-campus schedule. The school fosters a “global community of scholars,” encouraging cross-disciplinary inquiry that breaks down the walls between philosophy, art, and social science. With campuses in the historic UNESCO site of Valletta and the scenic Alps of Saas-Fee, students benefit from culturally rich environments that inspire intensive intellectual and creative growth.
