Course Details

The Bachelor of Education in Trades Technology is a two-phase program that prepares students to be certified by the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Certification Branch (TCB) to teach in BC secondary school settings. Completion of Phase I of the BETT program will enable you to apply for a Trades Certificate teaching credential which qualifies you to teach Technology Education courses in BC high schools. Phase I is completed in person at our Kamloops campus and is a full-time program 14 month program that starts in July of each year. The optional Phase II combines your Phase I studies, Prior Learning and Recognition credits from your trade apprenticeship training, 3 credits of Mathematics at the undergraduate level, and further academic studies in a variety of courses to provide the required 150 credits for a full Bachelor of Education in Trades and Technology and the opportunity to apply for a Professional Certificate teaching credential, qualifying you to teach both Technology Education and Academic courses in the BC school curriculum. Phase II is self-paced and is designed for working Phase I graduates to obtain their full Bachelor of Education degree. This phase can be completed either by continuing to study in-person or to take online courses until the required 150 credits have been accumulated.

The Bachelor of Tourism Management program is designed for graduates of recognized two-year diploma programs in tourism management, hospitality administration and outdoor recreation, and for those who have completed related programs and have similar educational backgrounds.

YOU decide where and when you learn. Study part-time or full-time. As a part-time student, you must complete the program within seven years of your start date. Complete the program: 100% online and off-campus, 100% on-campus or a combination of both online and on-campus. Please note, online courses are only available if you are a student residing in Canada. Choose when you get started. Online courses begin in September, January or May while on-campus courses begin in September or January. Gain the business skills you need to succeed.
