Curtin University is Western Australia’s largest and most culturally diverse university with Australia’s third largest international student population. With campuses in Malaysia and Singapore as well as face-to-face teaching in a number of countries, Curtin has a strong commitment to international engagement. This cultural diversity adds a rich and valuable dimension to our campus atmosphere, preparing all graduates to live and work effectively in an increasingly global environment.
It’s with great pleasure that I welcome you to Western Australia’s largest and most multicultural university.
With nine campus locations including Perth, Sydney, Malaysia and Singapore, Curtin boasts a rich diversity of cultures and a commitment to international engagement.
We also have a long-standing focus on indigenous education and culture, supported by our Centre for Aboriginal Studies, which is recognised as a national leader in its field. Curtin has one of the largest indigenous student populations in Australia and was the first university in the nation to sign aStatement of Reconciliation.
We offer a range of industry-aligned undergraduate and postgraduate courses in business, humanities, health, engineering and related sciences. These are delivered in a variety of study modes, and are increasingly available to study online. We deliver select courses from specialty locations in regional Western Australia including Margaret River and Kalgoorlie, home to the Curtin WA School of Mines, which has earned an international reputation for excellence in mining education and research.
By learning through exposure to research, business and industry, our students gain first hand work experience and graduate with the valuable skills. This unique combination of knowledge and experience enables our graduates to become a successful member of the workplace immediately upon graduation.
Curtin is also widely recognised for its practical research that is focused on solving timely, real-world problems. In recent years our research activity has grown significantly, driving Curtin’s rapid rise up the international university rankings.
As a university that never settles, we will continue to develop existing partnerships and establish new ones in areas relevant to our research and teaching. Curtin is a vibrant institution with an exciting future and I invite you to join us as we move forward and help make tomorrow better.
